Community involvement

We’ve been committed to Canberra businesses since 1985 and Canberra is a great place to live. That’s why get involved and support the Canberra Community, but, we don’t just stick our hand in our pocket. We actually get out there.

Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party

OPC is an annual sponsor of the Special Children’s Christmas Party. Its intent is to provide in excess of 1,600 children with a day they will never forget. The children may be terminally ill, intellectually impaired or physically impaired. Children arrive from all over the Canberra region to attend the event. This is the biggest party of its kind in the region and is an annual event with this year’s party being its 17th Anniversary.

Operation Christmas Child

OPC is a collection centre for Operation Christmas Child which is an international project that delivers millions of Christmas gift-filled shoeboxes to children in desperate situations around the world.

Camp Quality

The Camp Quality esCarpade is a major annual fundraising event that raises awareness and much needed funds for the children and their families living with cancer. It is an outback adventure with cars that are 20+ years old travelling through regional towns along a 3,000+km route. Along the way we stop at many schools to raise awareness of Camp Quality and provide some fun and excitement for the children.

Ronald McDonald House

OPC supports Ronald McDonald House which provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill babies and children.

We are a Room Partner and  help out with ‘Meals From the Heart’ which involves our staff cooking for the families.

Rotary Club of Canberra ‘Circus Quirkus’

OPC supports Circus Quirkus every year by providing tickets so that children who are not normally afforded the usual joys of childhood, such as those with disabilities, special needs or suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses, can enjoy a few hours of fun.

Lions Club ‘World Festival of Magic’

OPC provides tickets for children to attend the event from local Special Education units, disability services, welfare organisations and from charities involved in our local region. Many of these children suffer a great deal of trauma or difficulties in their lives and they really appreciate a break from their daily routine and the chance to see such a spectacular international show.
