OPC are on a different kind of mission...

The Classic Cruise in support of Camp Quality is back for its fourth year... and it’s bigger and better than ever!

SuperHeroes ACT are calling all car, truck and motorbike enthusiasts to join their cruise on Sunday 8 September.

Jarvis, IronMan and SuperGirlMustering at Black Mountain Tower, an expected 200 vehicles will cruise through Canberra on a designated route, before pulling up at the lake behind Questacon for a Family Fun Day and ‘Show N Shine’ event.

Brett and Cathy Norton, Managing Director and General Manager of OPC IT, take on the role of Iron Man and Super Girl  as part of the SuperHeroes ACT, who organise the event.

“The Classic Cruise is loads of fun and all for a great cause,” Brett said.

"We'll be driving Jarvis, our lovely old Holden VR Club Sport, and have set ourselves a hefty $5000 fundraising target for the event.

“All money raised from the event goes directly to Camp Quality, allowing the charity to continue its programs and services that support children up to the age of 13 who are dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone they love.”

The Classic Cruise is open to classic vehicles (20 years or older), luxury and exotic cars, company-branded cars, members of car clubs, unique vehicles, trucks and motorbikes.

“With the amount of people already registered, it’s shaping up to be our best one yet,” Brett said.

“We’ve also hyped up the Family Fun Day this year. We’re inviting the general public to dress as their favourite Superhero and join us at the lake behind Questacon from 11am. They’ll be able to check out the impressive vehicles and enjoy great food and entertainment.”

SuperHeroes ACTIn 2018 Camp Quality were able to provide services to over 8,000 registered kids impacted by cancer thanks to events like the Classic Cruise. They visited more than 500 hospitals with the famous Camp Quality puppets, ran their primary school education program for over 150,000 students, entertained over 2,300 families at Family Experience Days, and hosted over 1,200 kids facing cancer at Kids’ Camps.

“We’re all touched by cancer at some point in our lives,” said Brett.

“It really is an honour to be able to support Camp Quality and help to make a difference in the lives of so many Australian children."

The Classic Cruise raises money for Camp Quality through event registrations and by attracting donations. Top fundraisers will win prizes on the day, as well as get pole position leading the cruise through Canberra.

Join Iron Man and the rest of the SuperHeroes ACT (Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Super Girl, Batman and Thor) on Sunday 8 September.

Details of the cruise, including the online auction and early registration competitions, will be posted on the Classic Cruise’s website and Facebook page. Registrations are open now.
