Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority Website Redevelopment

Project Overview

In 2017 the Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, announced a significant overhaul to the Parliamentary Work Expenses Framework to facilitate greater transparency and accountability. As part of this, the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA) was established, with the responsibility of providing assurance that work expenses are spent in compliance with the Framework.

The IPEA team, who work within the Department of Finance, selected OPC to redesign and redevelop the IPEA website on the govCMS Platform as a Service (PaaS) platform.

The IPEA website contains content relating to auditing and reporting on parliamentarians' work expenses. It provides advice to parliamentarians and their staff on travel and work related expenses to support them in undertaking their duties, requiring that taxpayer funds be spent appropriately and in compliance with the relevant principles and regulations.

Why was OPC chosen?
